Britain without Johnson. What does this mean for Ukraine?

Something happened that no one seemed to expect. Boris Johnson is resigning. Until a few weeks ago, he managed to avoid impeachment, but he did not manage to avoid dismissal. Dozens of officials resigned one by one, leaving Johnson with no way out. He is retiring.

This is bad news for Ukraine: Johnson has visited Kyiv twice, actively supports Zelenskiy and Ukraine, promotes the supply of weapons, finances, and the imposition of sanctions on the Russian Federation. After the news about the resignation, there was talk in Ukraine about a possible change of mood in matters of support.

But, it seems, there is no good news for Russia.

First, Johnson will serve as prime minister for another four months, and therefore, theoretically, he will be able to continue his policy of supporting Ukraine. The election of a new prime minister is scheduled for October. Secondly, British Defense Minister Ben Wallace is already predicted to take his place. He was one of those who supported Johnson in matters of Ukraine. Therefore, there is hope that he will continue this policy after Johnson.

In any case, there are no good options for Russia. Britain is not like France or Germany, there are no elites who would take the side of the Russian Federation.
